RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Since 2014 MASAM has begun to engage in science and research in the field of technical sciences. Activities in science and research have brought close cooperation with academic leaders in the field, namely the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and the Technical University in Košice. In the field of material research we consider extremely valuable cooperation with the Institute of Material Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

The main research activities for MASAM are aimed at developing cutting tools for achieving higher machining efficiency. In this area, a huge range of input parameters can be explored, which significantly affect to the machining process. As an example, we can list the raw material, coating, geometry as well as the overall method of finishing the cutting edge.

MASAM is actively involved in research projects from the European Union’s Structural and Investment Funds, where it has successfully implemented three research and development projects.

MASAM plans to build an Innovation Center in the near future, whose role will be mainly scientific and research activity for continuous progress in our sphere of competence.
